Mission Statement
The Worship Commission seeks to encourage full, active, conscious participation of the whole community at worship to help connect faith with life. This Commission coordinates all aspects of prayer and liturgy in the parish. It provides direction and vision for what the parish seeks in communal worship.

 

2007-08 Goals

To foster a renewed understanding of our Catholic faith within the Holy Family community.

  • Convene the Teachable Moments Subcommittee to explore possible ways of incorporating "teachable moments" into liturgies and other parish activities.
  1. Commentators
  2. Church Tours
  3. Slow Motion Masses
  • Incorporate the theme of the Centrality of Eucharist in our Faith into various parish activities.
  1. Liturgical Reflection Day
  2. Strengthening the Eucharistic Ministry and educating the Eucharistic Ministers on the significance of their role.
  3. Teachable Moments Subcommittee can examine ways to incorporate a focus on Eucharist in their work.

 
To strengthen the worship ministries to encourage full, active and conscious participation.

  • Provide clear and consistent communication with all worship ministry chairs.
  1. Commission liaison
  2. Monthly email updates
  3. Invitations to Commission meetings
  • Develop volunteer lay leadership for all worship ministries.
  1. Eucharistic Ministers
  2. Altar Servers
  • Increase awareness of, and participation in, the various worship ministries by the Holy Family community.

To inspire a deeper life of prayer and spirituality within the Holy Family community.

  • Increase awareness of, and participation in, the various prayer groups.
  1. Worship Fair
  2. Bulletin and website communication
  • Develop and train prayer leaders within the parish.
  • Develop structures to support prayer groups and individual prayer needs.
  1. Leadership of prayer groups
  2. Prayer room and virtual prayer requests
  3. Resources to support daily prayer

 

2007-08 Membership
Commission membership includes parishioners selected for their experience and expertise, a representative from the Pastoral Council, and the member of the pastoral staff with responsibility in the area of worship.
