Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances
give thanks for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. — 1
Thessalonians 5:16-18
Mission Statement
The Blessed Mother Prayer Group promotes devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
and Immaculate Heart of Mary by public recitation of the rosary and other
prayers to enrich their spiritual lives.
History of the Blessed Mother Prayer Group
In 1987, a group of Holy Family parishioners visited Medugorje, Yugoslavia (at
that time) led by Alva Lee Arnold (RIP). There, they became more appreciative of
Mary's role in their redemption, more appreciative of the precious gift of faith,
and more appreciative of the prayers of the Holy Rosary. Their love for Mary and
devotion to the rosary increased and they began meeting on the first Saturday of
each month, in honor of our Blessed Mother.
Prior to Cardinal Timothy Manning's death in 1989, Cardinal
Manning approached the prayer group during a Continental Breakfast with words of encouragement. The Blessed Mother Prayer Group dedicated their prayer booklet to our beloved Cardinal
Manning.
