Mission Statement
The St. Vincent de Paul Society leads
women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person
service to the needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed
Frederic Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul.
About the Saint Vincent de Paul Society
The SVDP
Society is the oldest ministry in the parish, having been originally formed in
1921. It is currently comprised of 13 volunteers and one staff member.
The group
meets monthly and operates throughout the year. Its funds come from the annual
Thanksgiving collection, donation boxes in the church vestibule, and from the St. Joseph’s Table. The Society provides
financial support to those in need, such as assisting with housing expenses for
those out of work.
This
ministry is linked through the “twinning” program to the nearby parish of Our
Lady of Guadalupe in El Sereno. The SVDP Society succeeds through the
dedication and spirit of its volunteers.
