Women’s Reading Group

Meetings
Please join the Women's Reading Group on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m., in the Pastoral Center.

The next meeting is Tuesday, October 14, 2008. The book selection is Mother Teresa: Come Be My Light by Mother Teresa. "Mother Teresa was one of the most revered people of the 20th century, so it is no surprise that 10 years after her death people still want to know what impelled this poor, humble Albanian woman to give her life to God so completely. Kolodiejchuk, a Catholic priest and friend of Mother Teresa's who is actively promoting her cause for sainthood, assembles a startling and impressive collection of her writings, most of which have never been seen by the public."

Each month's book selection is available in the Holy Family Bookstore.

Men's Reading Group

Meetings
Please join the Men's Reading Group on the 3rd Tuesday of each month to discuss books concerned with religious, moral, and ethical issues, 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., Pope John XXIII Room in the Pastoral Center.

The next meeting is Tuesday, October 21, 2008. The book selection is Desire of the Everlasting Hills by Thomas Cahill. "After painting with broad brush strokes an entertaining picture of the Greek, Jewish, and Roman world, Cahill focuses on Jesus. With illuminating deductions and clever speculation, Jesus is seen though the eyes of his biographers in their Gospel accounts. Each of these authors' lives is reconstructed in such a way that the richness of their writing and their subject matter is wonderfully enhanced."

Each month's book selection is available in the Holy Family Bookstore.
