Background to the Pastoral Leadership Revisioning
In 2004, Holy Family embraced a new leadership model of Commissions based on recommendations made by consultants from Parish Assessment and Renewal (PAR). As we approach the 10th anniversary of the publication of that report, there is a consensus among the pastoral leadership of the parish that it is time to revision our leadership structures by refining, renewing and reenergizing them.
In May, 2013, a survey was sent out to all the Commission members as well as our Staff Directors and members of the Pastoral Council to seek input about was working and not working so well in our leadership structures. This was followed by a retreat in June at which the results of the survey were shared and further input was solicited. The notes from that retreat were shared at the last Commission meeting in July which led to further discussion.
Over the summer, a Core Team (consisting of Christina Altmayer, Hayden Claisse, Shoshana Cuevas, Bill Lewis, Ed Panconi, Dawn Ponnet, Frank Ponnet, Mary Schimmoller, and Cambria Tortorelli), met to plan the next steps of the Pastoral Leadership Revisioning process. On September 10, the Core Team presented the process they envisioned to the Commission members. Briefly, the plan is to dedicate the Commission meetings and time to the process described below from October through May.
This webpage contains all the documents and materials we will be using, as well as the background materials described below. Non Commission members are more than welcome to attend any meeting as an observer (however we cannot go over information from the past to catch an observer up–rather we would ask that the material held within these pages be a source of background information). The dates of the Commission meetings are listed below. The meetings are always held on Tuesdays in the Parish Hall and start at 7 p.m.
Please pray for us as we embark on this exciting time of Pastoral Leadership Revisioning!!!
