Isaiah 30:19-21, 23-26

Summary
Jesus went around to all the towns and villages, At the sight of the
crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were
troubled and abandoned,
like sheep without a shepherd.
Jesus sent out these Twelve after instructing them thus,
"Go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
As you go, make this proclamation: 'The Kingdom of heaven is at
hand.'
Cure the sick, raise the dead,
cleanse lepers, drive out demons.
Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give."
Reflection
Reflecting on this Gospel, I am reminded of how all people, no matter
what day and age they walked this earth, male or female, rich or poor,
feel like lost sheep without a shepherd at some point or another.
Just as Jesus’ heart was moved with pity as he went around to the
towns and villages seeing the faces of troubled and abandoned peo-
ple, we too are faced with seeing poverty
and neglect first hand. Perhaps its peo-
ple that are close to us that have been
affected by the economy, yet it seems as
though we are never content, always
