edges shimmering in finest silver. For just a few minutes, the whole sky gives
praise to God for a new beginning. And then the sun edges ever higher and the
fabulous show is over. Until tomorrow….
The sunrise is God’s promise of hope to us. In His eternal mercy he has blessed
us with another opportunity to right the wrongs of yesterday, to renew our resolve
to be better disciples today, to seek and to give forgiveness; another chance to
place our trust in our all-loving God.
Does God wait breathlessly to see what we will do with the new day He has so
generously given to us? How will we respond to God’s gift?
Prayer
Dear ever-faithful and loving God,
You never give up on us even when we are at our worst.
When we misuse Your gifts, You give us
more.
When we are in our darkest moments, You
are there with us.
Please help us to feel Your hope in our
burdened hearts;
Please help us to feel the warmth of Your
light when we are in darkness.
Thank You, God, for giving us chance after
chance after chance as we struggle to be-
come our best selves.
We praise You, we bless You, we thank
You. Amen
