Do you ever notice how a smile to a stranger
evokes a return smile? This is what living our faith
is about, not always the big things, but as Mother
Teresa would say, doing many little things with
grace. Too often we see and hear the news of to-
day as nothing more than man’s inhumanity to
man, but I am convinced that this is not the major-
ity of people. The news we see broadcast is put
out by the newspaper adage of: “If it bleeds, it
leads”.
Everyday many people are caring for one another. Here at Holy Family many of
our ministries are directly involved in the work of helping and caring for each
other: The Giving Bank, Mission Haiti, Dolores Mission, St. Vincent de Paul, and
many others just as important but maybe not as noticeable.
We cannot forget God’s grace and goodness that we are called to profess
through our baptism. We need to be the force of change in the world beginning
as one person and pointing out to others that they can be part of this change. We
look to Jesus as our example and we need to live as his Blessed Disciple building
a community of Blessed Disciples.
Prayer
Dear Lord, help me realize that I am your prophet of
today. Give me the courage to do many little things
with grace and to lead by example. For it is the giving
of myself to you in all that I do, that I will become
your Blessed Disciple. Amen
