pus. The way God reaches out to us is full of reason, love, and purpose. The
youth today keep reminding me of this term “called out,” meaning to be called by
name to take action, share our love, family, talents, community and take a stand
for those in need. If we have ears, they are to hear him and be open to him to
conceive miracles in our own lives. In sickness and health, in those moments
when we might be feeling depleted, he calls us to renew, not push on empty, and
to draw close to him. The song “Come Back to Me” comes to mind; it reminds
me - it reminds us to go back to him with all our hearts and never to let any fear
keep us apart. Zorah and Elizabeth were barren, but they were still faithful and
righteous. We have examples in them for our life in them, to walk the walk and
talk the talk while being open to God.
Prayer
My Lord and my God you are indescribable. You make all things new and pour
upon us an abundance of love. Help us to love like you love, to see life and death
as a gift and a passing from this world to rise with you. In our day-to-day walk,
help us to persevere in faithfulness and righteousness. Help us to long for holi-
ness in our relationship with you, our family, and our church community. Give us
what we need, Lord, to be that new life with all whom we witness to with our
lives. Keep us from temptation, Lord, and, like David, teach us to sing your
praises. I love you Lord. Increase my faith. Sharpen and mold me, that in times of
darkness I maybe your light. Thank you for your
self-giving, agape, unfailing Love.
