Summary
Behold, the Lord shall come with power he will enlighten the eyes of
the servants.
Reflection
Andrew was a follower of John the Baptist as he waited with anticipa-
tion for the coming of the Messiah. When Jesus called Andrew he
recognized him as the Messiah and immediately followed.
For the past several years I have been involved in the Christian Initia-
tion Process, and every year I am profoundly struck by the faithful-
ness of the candidates and the catechumens. Many of the people
are inspired by their spouse or significant other to become Catholic.
Did they hear the voice of God speaking through that special person?
And furthermore, what made them stay throughout the process?
Some of the people coming to RCIA have just experienced some
tragedy. Some so painful. They come to this community to make
sense of the pain. Sponsor and team members embrace and help
carry the crosses of these pains.
Still others come to this ministry seeking
a relationship with Christ and the church.
Often these folks cannot get enough to
read. They enjoy getting deeply involved
in ministries right off the bat.
