the presence of the Lord in our everyday lives and to accept the role
(vocation) that we are called to by God. But at the table at Christmas
it was easy to see the presence of Jesus in my family and with those
who would show up at my mom˅s table, usually 2 or 3 unannounced
friends who were always welcomed.
As Elizabeth greeted Mary, the Holy
Spirit was present in her to ac-
knowledge the presence of the King
to be born through Mary. As Mary
was called by God to do wondrous
things, God calls on each of us to
do wondrous things in our own
way. As we see several times in the
gospel, God calls on ordinary peo-
ple to do his work, people just like you and me. To be chosen by God
is an awesome privilege and responsibility. But it takes each of us to
accept our ˈvocationˉ or calling to do the best we can do and to see
God˅ s presence in all that we do. This is how we live as Beloved
Disciples of Christ.
Prayer
Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee.
Amen
