My baptism was more than a public display of my faith, it truly be-
came my rebirth. I believe I lifted my soul up to Jesus at that mo-
ment, and then he returned it back to me. Through each of the three
pouring of the baptismal water (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), I re-
ceived infinite blessings and was reborn. It is impossible to describe
how my heart leapt and my soul felt free at that moment. And that
feeling has never left me. I often look back on that Easter Vigil night
and feel embraced by the joy and hope that was given to me ˀ truly
a new life.
As with any newborn, I continued to grow ˀ in my case, it is my faith
that matures and expands. I am like a toddler now, still learning every
day but building on what I learned the day, the week, the month be-
fore. Like a child, I look forward to the glorious future ahead of me
but still am enthralled by the simple steps of each passing day.

Dear Lord, I thank you for allowing me to find my way to you and to
be born again. I pray
for all those who are
seeking you so that
they may know the joy
of a new life as I have.
Grant me the strength
and discipline to honor
that life you have
given me.
