God reveal to them their own dark, stormy souls? For me, Jesus˅ life
and love reveals by contrast the turmoil and darkness of my own soul
where pride, anger, envy and such abound. Because they are part of
me, I have sinned in what I have done and in what I have failed to do.
I know am not worthy to receive the bread of eternal life. In this deep
sea of the dark self, I would drown but for the grace of the one who
walks on water, calls me to ˈnot be afraid,ˉ calms my storms. He says
the word, and my soul is healed again and again. In Jesus˅ love for
me as I am, he teaches me to find and share the little light that is
mine by not denying my dark. He is getting me to the shore where I
am heading.

RAYER
Lord, Jesus Christ, let your mercy be on us, as we place our trust in
you in the stormy dark and deep nights of our discipleship. Lead us
to rejoice in your love for us, sinners though we are. We pray to love
each other as you have loved us so we can minister in Spirit and wis-
dom.
