eousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see me; condemna-
tion, because the ruler of this world has been condemned."
All the readings are full of joy and hope, even the last which speaks of our sorrow be-
cause Jesus is not longer visibly with us. But because of the Holy Spirit, Whom He sent,
He is always with us if we only seek and knock and find Him in our souls.
R
EFLECTION
How can one write a prayer of thanksgiving more eloquent and complete than Mary's an-
swer to Gabriel when she agreed to be the mother of Jesus.
But how many of us stop to say thank you when something, wished for or unexpected,
brightens our lives. We think the good luck or just desserts are of our own doing. I won-
der if one can open an account of ˈthank you˅sˉ ahead of time, saved up for the oppor-
tune moment of wishes fulfilled. And what if it becomes overdrawn? How could that be?
Perhaps we seldom deposit and more often withdraw. Even if Lent has passed and this
is a time of feel good-ness, we need to remember our thankfulness about more happen-
ings in our lives. Just waking up in the morning is a miracle; we could have died in our
sleep. Do we say "Good morning, Lord," as we do to family members and others we
meet through the day?
How easy it is to just say "thank you" and for no immediate reason, just "thank you" for
the world and our friends and happy happenstances, for no reason at all except that it is
God out there, and within us, making everything happen.

RAYER
Hail Mary, full of grace.
Our Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
