ting high on the kitchen counter pass through area. The men and women in line
were often dirty, missing teeth, shabby, soiled clothing. My son and daughter
had not yet learned to judge people, and certainly saw nothing really different
about these people. As each person stopped by to get a plate of food the chil-
dren would say, “Hi and how are you doing?” Delighted, the many homeless
folks would engage in a conversation with my little ones. My children only saw
people, perhaps they saw Jesus in each of the homeless, hungry visitors.
Prayer
God, you have created all things and made all of us, the clean and the despica-
ble in your own image and likeness. Open my eyes to see you in all of my broth-
ers and sisters.
