UMMARY
Jesus has pity for the crowds because they are like sheep without a
shepherd. ˈThe harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask
the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.ˉ

EFLECTION
We were fortunate to witness the Ordination to the Diaconate yester-
day. Thirteen new Deacon Couples and one single Deacon who
joined the over 300 Deacons serving in the Archdiocese of Los Ange-
les. This follows just one week after four men were ordained Priests
in the Archdiocese.
When we think about vocations or ˈlaborers for his harvestˉ we usu-
ally think about priests and perhaps deacons. Some of us might think
about the brothers or sisters who taught us when we were in school.
Do we ever think about the lay ministers or the other members as the
Body of Christ?
We are all called to be laborers for Christ. We are all called to witness
as members of Christ˅s body.
We may be called to be parents and teach our children about God˅s
love.
We may be called to be a lay minister. To take Euchartist to those
