So you also are now in anguish.
But I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice,
and no one will take your joy away from you.

EFLECTION
In this Gospel reading, Jesus informs His disciples that soon He will no
longer have a physical presence on earth. He describes His mystical vision
for the future in which the Holy Spirit will come down and dwell within the
Disciples and all future generations. All of God’s people will then be able
to be participants in His shared vision
As contemporary followers of Christ, this means that we must listen care-
fully with our hearts to Jesus through the Holy Spirit; to discern not only
His teachings, but in our respective imperfections, make Jesus’ vision our
shared vision. What has been the Lord’s vision for me personally? I would
cite those of putting my talents and skills to the best use possible; to be
the best parent and grandparent possible, imbuing these children loved
into life by God with as much love as I can give to them. How can I prac-
tice authenticity in my life in order to commit to that vision? By being
transparent in all of my relationships, and rejecting hidden agendas. How
can I channel this vision to overcome the difficulties and challenges it pre-
sents? By prayer, as well as actions. These expressions of my faith are
manifest through the many spiritual opportunities provided by Holy Family
Church and the wonderful friendships I have cultivated through this wel-
coming church – and that includes one of the best, who inspires and
guides me along my faith journey – although I have not met him, except
through our many exchanges via email. Thank you, my good friend. You,
too, are always in my prayers.
