of worshipping God begins, no longer on this or that mountain, but
“in spirit and truth” (Jn 4:23).
As Advent is approaching, we have to follow Jesus’ footstep, we
have to do similar cleansing of our heart. Those money-chargers,
livestock sellers represent our stubbornness, injustice, selfishness,
gossip, greed, and all other bad habits that occupy our heart. It is
time to drive these away to make room for the coming of Jesus.
Make our heart the new Temple for the Lord to live.
Prayer
O Lord, have mercy on
us all, take away my
sins and mercifully set
me ablaze with the fire
of your Holy Spirit.
Take away from me the
heart of stone, and give
me a human heart, a heart to love and adore you, a heart to delight in
you, to follow and enjoy you, and make me a Temple fit for you.
Amen.
