Although I cannot know for sure, but I hope our God is asking me to be prepared
in that I spend time in prayer and reflection before I get up to make any kind of
presentation. Yet as I give a talk I need to be open to speak God's words as
prompted. In my humble opinion-- there is little choice. Occasionally when I
have made a presentation I find myself leaving the script and as I listen to the
words that are coming out of my mouth I am often amazed at the words and
wonder just where the words came from -- they were so good. It is at that mo-
ment I speak a prayer of thanksgiving for God used my voice to speak his words.
My last thought is about the word "adversaries". Just who are my adversaries? I
like to think that everyone is a friend, some I know and others I yet need to meet.
Perhaps adversaries are simply people who do not yet know about the glory of
knowing Jesus. That is our job to share the joy of knowing Jesus.
Prayer
Good and merciful Jesus
Please be with me and I attempt to live my life as you have asked
May I listen to your word and model my life after yours.
Give me your word when I speak and fill my heart with your love.
I ask this in your holy name
