Few of us will change the world as Steve Jobs did in communications or
Martin Luther King,
acial relations, but all of us can image God in
our world in the choices we make, the things we do, the loving way we
treat the persons we meet, whether friend or stranger. The scope of our
lives is not important. Who is the greater saint: Theresa of Avila founder
of a religious order, a mystic
who changed the spirituality of
Spain and indeed, the whole
Catholic world, who, over a long
life, did many things with great
love or Theresa of Lisieux a
simple nun who, in her short
life, did a few ordinary things
also with extraordinary love.
Who Knows ? Who cares ? Each
lived her circumstance with
great love. Whatever our cir-
cumstances, our faith calls us,
empowers us to live with great
love. We are free. We are
daughters and sons of God.
Prayer
O God, your gratuitous love awes and humbles me. May it deepen and
broaden my love for all creation, for all people especially those I will en-
counter this day.
