the eyes of others, let alone in your own eyes? Paul addresses this
crisis directly: "What will separate us from the love of Christ?" Will it
be anguish, or distress, or persecution? No! "In all these things we
conquer overwhelmingly through Him who loves us." Jesus, our Light,
turns into the wind - into his persecution and aloneness - assured
that
‘
all is well and all will be well' through the love of His Father.
When we pray we offer our weaknesses, our frailties to God. We
bring our longing for His love and companionship. All this we offer in
trust and gratitude. Those are our gifts! We offer our littleness, our
poverty, our neediness. God loves us even more for the trust that we
feebly show in making such an offering. It is our trust that God most
treasures!
Prayer
Our God of light and darkness
We long for Your presence, always.
Give us the grace to hold Your hand,
The gift of trusting in Your love.
Every day we will fall, and fall, and fall again.
Please pick us up, brush us off, and give us a hug
so that we can go on our way towards You.
Amen
