depend upon to live, to survive, to grow. In our unsureness, our
"unbelief", we take matters into our own hands to provide for our se-
curity and well-being. How profoundly abhorrent is the notion that
we are to be as dependent and defenseless as a little child.

Oh Father and Mother God,
may we have the grace to trust you,
every day and in every way.
Give us this day our daily bread
and gentle our untrusting and striving hearts.
