Our God,
you are the God of darkness, as well as light;
weakness as well as strength;
defeat as well as victory.
Give us the gift to call
on you,
give us the gift to trust
in you,
give us the gift to lis-
ten to you,
and to follow you.
You are our life's sur-
est Companion,
our soul's truest
Lover.
We thank you,
for "the Lord takes
delight in his people".
