portant for married people to live ˈ
holy lives
ˉ as it is important for those in religious or-
ders. A consistent reminder to Christians that our essential purpose in life is to serve the
God and His will. Being true to oneself despite external pressure is the challenge. The
main point here is to live authentically.
In my professional life, I have been around many so-called ˈleaders.ˉ I have also been
around many well-intentioned, yet underwhelming individuals that are impotent at dis-
playing a genuine interest in people. To me, the measure of a man or woman is how they
treat people in general. Taking it to the next level, as Christians, we should treat every-
one as Jesus did -- as authentically as possible.
Mathew Kelly, author of
Rediscover Catholicism
, speaks about having an ˈauthentic life.ˉ
This means we need to strive to be who God intended us to be and learn that it is His will
that we should continue on this journey. Turning our individual spirit over to God and
trust in His plan is how we can live our life with
passion and purpose
. We cannot pre-
pare to meet our Maker by living our life without sincerity, credibility, and authenticity. A
lack of sincerity and credibility breeds mistrust and contempt for one˅s values. Equally
important is maintaining one˅s individuality. My personal and professional experience is
that people are far more willing to follow an authentic person who they like and trust.
This is not to suggest that one should strive to please the masses or alter a decision in
order to be revered. It essentially means that authenticity and character are important
aspects of what makes one ˈholyˉ as well as ˈblessed.ˉ
Colossians 3:17 says, ˈAnd whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in
the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks
to God the Father through Him.ˉ

Dear Lord,
Please help me today to do everything in Your
name and in thanksgiving to You. I know you can
do more in my life than I can ever do. I ask Mary,
our Mother, to intercede for me and to guide me
always. I ask, Father, that the Holy Spirit pour
unto me Your peace, faith, hope, truth, and
power so that I may live according to Your will
and be an example of Your love and power to
others.
In Jesus˅ name I prayˎ
Amen.
