sung in the Psalm passages for today. I reflect on how I especially
needed to store this message in my soul this past year and how it
sustained me through some scary times.
Three words that speak out to me are fear, favor and faithfulness.
While Mary was “greatly troubled,” she was given reassurance – “do
not be afraid” - and responded with the magnificent “may it be done
according to your will.” The Gospel teaches us to try to live in favor
with the Lord and the Psalm tells us to “proclaim our faithfulness.”
Prayer
Dear Lord, as we move closer to the coming of grace with the birth of
Jesus, may we use this time to grow closer to you, using Mary as our
model – giving praise, liv-
ing with humility, and hav-
ing complete and constant
faith and trust in you.
