My favorite form of praise prayer is, of course, song. What's the old adage?,
"When you sing, you pray twice." I love to sing the folk songs I learned as a
child. Now that I am a mother of two little ones, I adore teaching them those
songs: "I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart . . . Where? Down in my
heart! Where? Down in my heart . . ." (If you just sang along in your head, you
showed your age!)
When I mess up (or my husband is under the misimpression that I have), it's as
important for me to clear the slate with Jesus as it is to repair the damage with
whomever I've slighted. Not because I'm afraid of the repercussions, but be-
cause I want my relationship with Him to be without impediments. Only then can
my walk with Him be truly free.
Jesus, I thank you for all You are and all You do for me. You are magnificent! I
adore You and love You and rejoice in You! Please forgive any and all of my fail-
ures. I yearn to be a better person, to better follow You. Amen.

O my God, help me to accept your enfolding love. Amen.
