UMMARY
These readings emphasize the covenant which God had made with the people of
Israel. The Messiah would come and there would be fulfillment of the scriptures.
The leaders of the time did not recognize Jesus as the son of God; the one who
would come and place our sins at the altar of God for forgiveness and redemp-
tion. Jesus continues to call to us, to follow him, to believe and trust in him and
that he will lead us home to God.

EFLECTION
This passage reminds me of a time when I was a child. I was lost, as young chil-
dren tend to do. I was lost in a shopping area that I had been to numerous times
in the past. I knew where I was but I could not find my parents. If I had thought
about it then, I would have been able to find my way home. I let the fear and un-
certainty of my situation drive me to not understand my surroundings.
