Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives
do I give it to you.

EFLECTION
In Acts, the Church is gathered, brought together. Paul and Barnabas
"strengthen the spirits" of the disciples, commend them and give
them into the grace of God. This is the blessing and gift that Jesus
offers in the Gospel: "My peace I give to you." Jesus goes further
and commands: "Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid". These
are God's gifts and offerings to us.
Offerings and gifts to us??!! Can you imagine such gifts to such as
us? What have we ever done to be so deserving? All of us can an-
swer that question! As the hymn puts it: "Ponder anew what the Al-
mighty can do, who with his love will befriend us".
The psalmist explores this gracious giving and our responses to it.
"LET all your works give you thanks....LET your faithful ones give
praise....LET them speak of your might." LET us give thanks and of-
fer praise to you! Let...allow. Even our response of gratitude is a gift
from God!
