us. He rescues us, he protects us and he shields us from the evil
one. God always provide what we need (not always what we want),
but always what we need. All God asks of us is that we have faith
and hope in all that he provides. The women in the Gospel who is
hemorrhaging had faith and hope that Jesus could cure her. This
particular Gospel story is about hope in the midst of death. Jesus
was on his way to see a dying child and yet an unsuspecting woman
had faith enough in God and his son, Jesus to just touch his robes.
She thought, ˈJust the mere touch will end my afflictionˉ. How won-
derful would it be to just say ˈJesus I am here and today God˅s will
be done! Let your breath envelop me and make all my afflictions be
gone!ˉ We are reminded in today˅s Gospel reading to have faith and
hope, even in the devastations that happen in our lives, God is always
there willing to share with us his robes.

Dear Heavenly Father ˀ Please let our faith in you ever increase and
as we encounter those afflictions we face, let our thoughts and
prayers continually come to you. Help us to have hope in the face of
death and to always remember to come to you and embrace your
goodness in the midst of our afflictions.
Amen
