Summary
God˅s perfect truth and the laws of love are revealed in the command-
ments through Moses and again through Jesus, breathing life into us
through the Spirit, refreshing our souls.
Reflection
These words speak loudly in the reading where God commands ten basic
laws of life: ˈShow neither partiality to the weak nor deference to the
mighty, but judge your fellow men justly.ˉ
Recently my son Aidan and I were figuring out how to remember each of
the commandments as we walked through a typical day. We drew pictures
to help us, but the core visual was our home and how we as a family re-
lated to each other and our neighbors. Once we could relate not coveting
our neighbors˅ belongings to our next-door neighbors, the Meyers, we
could truly internalize God˅s message and truth. We had real people in our
minds who we could not fathom slandering or hurting.
