How like our own focus on our individual agendas. God may be speaking to us
anytime, not just at Eucharist or prayer moments during the day. Are we listening,
even expecting to hear from him? Have we set aside time just to listen? Are we
able to turn off the voices that rattle around in our heads every waking moment
to allow His voice into our consciousness?
This may be the time, during Lent, to practice this contemplation. It's usually
very hard to team to quiet our minds, for extended periods of 5 to 15 minutes at
a time, and just practice listening, even if nothing seems to be there. Wait in
humble silence. Don˅t try to push it. Just ˈrest in the Lordˉ and let him do all
the work.
