Lent Weekday
Wisdom 2:1A, 12-22
Psalm 34:17-18, 19-20, 21 and 23
John 7:1-2, 10, 25-30
Summary
The Reading and the Gospel asserts the lack of faith among God˅s
people that Jesus is who He claims because He holds them ac-
countable, seems to know their thoughts and because He is so dif-
ferent from them. They test Him to see if He saves himself from
those who try to take his life. In our humanness, we are blinded by
evil which makes us unable to realize God˅s grace, and, conse-
quently, we challenge the benefits of listening and obeying the Lord˅s
wisdom.
The Responsorial Psalm affirms that for those who struggle to be just
in an unjust world, the Lord acknowledges their efforts with reward
and destroys the evil doers. The Lord blesses those who face their
broken hearts and crushed spirits with His forgiveness and grace.
