Choose to be observant, choose goodness,
make a difference, be like God.
Reflection
These are a couple of tough readings. The inner battles of
one’s mind. I am reminded of the
Myth of Sisyphus
. The
gods had condemned Sisyphus to ceaselessly rolling a rock
to the top of a mountain, then the stone would fall back of its
own weight and one would start all over. They had thought with some
reason that there is no more dreadful punishment than futile and
hopeless labor.
One always finds one's
burden again. But Sisyphus
teaches the higher fidelity; the
struggle itself toward the
heights is enough to fill one’s
heart.
As a Christian I find that the
struggle is often more than I can bear without God and the church.
Jesus instructs us to interpret the present time. When reading that
I am reminded that Jesus has given us all that we need. First God
