Summary
These readings reflect the very foundation of our faith and
Jesus’ teachings: Love God and love others. Like the
Thessalonians, we should turn away from things of the world
and take great joy in the Lord, becoming examples for all be-
lievers. And in the joy of that
love, we must love and express
that love to others, never exclud-
ing any.
Reflection
: It should be so simple to reflect on love
– loving God and loving others as we
love ourselves, and in the abstract, it IS
easy. But in the up close and personal,
in the practical day-to-day living, it’s a
little more difficult.
I truly want to put God first in my every-
day life, yet despite that desire, the re-
sponsibilities of the day clamor much
more loudly than the stillness and peace
of love in the Lord. Work, family, home
and even obligations at church can often
take precedent. We run from event to
event, appointment to meeting to activity,
