the family. Neighbors we have known for years and who have become
close friends are now part of our extended family.
In the Psalm we hear Jesus˅ words again: Give me discernment that I
may observe your law and keep it with all my heart. Guide me, Lord,
in the way of your commands.
What Jesus is saying to us is, we are to be open to his word and to
act on it. Just being at mass is not enough, we must become part of
His close family and do and act as He is teaching us. Just as Olympic
Athletes we must not just listen to the instructions we must practice
the acts that will make us into great athletes. We are called by Jesus
to act on our beliefs and to participate in our community spiritual life.
This can be as easy as volunteering to write a gospel reflection, or to
be part of Get on The Bus program, or to assist with the Giving Bank.
Holy Family Parish has over 90 ministries in which we can become
participants in living and acting our faith.
