get even a single avocado. Was this tree worth all of this mess and
hassle? One day while on the roof I found an old decayed avocado;
finally I had proof that this tree could produce.
That I believe is how God sees us; in our potential. But for that po-
tential to be realized; I must do something. This is not a mystical
event; it is a fulfillment of living his word and keeping his command-
ments. I look at the outreach of the church and I see our parish
working to be fruitful in so many ways. From across the street at the
Giving Bank to the far away needs of those in Haiti, Holy Family as a
community is a blessing to others and a reflection of Christ˅s love for
us.

I see an invitation in these words. I feel the invitation to pray
and ask for God˅s pruning hand in my life. Dear Lord, I cannot bear
fruit on my own, please walk with me and prune me however neces-
sary so that I too will remain in you. Allow your love to flow through
me and use me to bear much fruit. Thank you for all the blessings
you offer to me, my family and our community.
