We may find ourselves in circumstances that don˅t seem as if God is there,
yet we are reminded to take refuge in Him as we bear witness to those in
our company. Jesus considers us a gift & prayed for us before we were
even born, let alone Christians, in hope that we would become one body.

EFLECTION
Acts:
What can I say? I love Paul. He states
the answer to the very question posed as to
why he is being accused and in so doing;
whether by his own keen awareness or the
leading of the Spirit, was able to divert the
attention from himself by pitting the Pharisees
and Sadducees against each other for their
differing beliefs. But as I read that, I hear a
caution, reminding me that it is not that un-
common for those of us who hold strong to
our beliefs to be distracted from the unity Je-
sus is praying for in today˅s gospel reading.
Who is it that you indentify with in this reading? Paul is being used mightily
to bear witness as a Christian believer and is willing to pay a heavy price.
The Lord stands by him, but it doesn˅t make him less susceptible to perse-
cution or judgment, rather quite the opposite. May we all have the faith and
strength to be a ˄Paul˅.
