Psalms:
I˅m drawn to the phrase ˈˎyou it is who hold fast my lot.ˉ Again, I
think Paul was confident of this and took comfort in it. If we can grasp this
truth, how much more would we be willing to follow the lead of the Holy
Spirit? We are promised that our souls will be kept and that we will be led
along the path of life. May the Lord always remain our hope.
John:
We are torchbearers in a way, passing along the faith, ˈˎalso for
those who will believe in me through their wordˉ. I am intrigued by the pas-
sage ˈˎI have given them the glory you gave meˉ. I believe that to be
speaking of the Holy Spirit, which binds the Father and Son together in
unity and seems that is Christ˅s desire for us. Christ refers to humanity as a
gift, His gift! He states that the Father loved Him before the foundation of
the world; just as it is that we were loved before the foundation of the
world. Is it possible that the Father expressed His love for the Son through
us and His love of us through His Son? Certainly, the overarching theme of
today˅s gospel reading is that of oneness and unity.

Praise be unto you who made us, creating us in our mother˅s womb, and
who holds fast our destiny. Let us carry your Word with us & share it boldly,
passing on the legacy of your grace and glory. Guide us along the path you
have laid out for us. Use us in mighty ways, keeping our faith strong and
soul secure. Let us experience the Holy Spirit is ways that foster unity with
all brother˅s & sisters in Christ. Cause unity to grow in the church. This I
pray in the name, power, and authority of our Savior, your Son, Christ Je-
sus, Amen.
