Summary
The queen of Sheba had heard of Solomon˅s great wisdom and wealth; she had
to come see it for herself. She had many questions for Solomon and he an-
swered them all. She was amazed at his wisdom as well as by his prosperity ˀ
Solomon was clearly blessed by God.
Reflection
Gifts come in all shapes and sizes ˀ from the daintiest of diamonds in a robins˅
egg blue box or a homemade art project to a helping hand, a steady shoulder or
a listening ear.
The queen of Sheba was clearly blessed with worldly gifts: precious stones, an
abundance of spices, gold, servants, camels. She appeared to have it all. It ap-
pears, however, that she had a longing in her heart for something she could not
buy. She had a desire for knowledge - knowledge that she could only get from
Solomon.
The queen came to Solomon, seeking answers to all the questions she had in her
heart. And what a gift Solomon then gave her ˀ he answered everything. He
addressed everything; perhaps
her uncertainties, her fears, her
doubts. Nothing was hidden
from Solomon in his conversa-
tions with the queen. The Lord
withheld nothing from Solomon
and Solomon explained it all to
her.
What a fantastic gift!
