Summary
The Gospel is where Mary and Joseph present Jesus to the Lord in
Jerusalem. This is where Simeon and Anna recognize Jesus as Christ
the Lord.
Reflection
Both Anna and Simeon were blessed by the Holy Spirit to be able to
recognize Jesus when was being presented at the Temple and knew
that the salvation of mankind was close at hand.
As beloved Disciples of Christ, we too have been blessed by the Holy
Spirit. We know that everyone has been saved and his loving grace
resides in all of His creations.
Are we able to recognize Jesus today? Can we see Him in all of hu-
mankind? Are we able to see Him in the hungry and homeless that go
unnoticed on our way
about our day? Can we see
Him in those whose politi-
cal views are different than
ours? Can we see Him in
those who we are in con-
flict with?
