Holy Family continues to screen the history of Vatican II, The Faithful Revolution, in a series of one hour videos Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. (May 9 & 16) in St. Joseph Center.
It was 1962, when Remi De Roo, a 38 year old Manitoba, priest, was appointed bishop of Victoria. He plunged head first into the excitement, wonder and influence of the Second Vatican Council, a time of profound developments within the Church. Bishop De Roo maintains his enthusiasm for this renewed vision and overarching mission by the Council. He was a Council Father in all four sessions of Vatican II. Since his retirement in 1999 he has been the “Pilgrim of the Second Vatican Council”, proclaiming its message. His purpose is to “give people hope.”
