I Was Created To Radiate Divine Light and Beauty!

We had a lecture yesterday on the remarkable Hildegarde of Bingen. Dr. Nancy Fierro presented Hildegarde of Bingen as dazzling, creative, gutsy, and compassionate. And she was! Hildegarde was an amazing ray of light in medieval times. She composed songs and music, wrote books and poetry, she painted, lectured, advised and helped people throughout her whole life. She would have been an amazing blogger! She was extremely knowledgeable on herbal remedies and medicines of the time and wrote books on …

An Update on the Msgr. Clement J. Connolly Fund for Holy Family Church

Over the past few months, the donations which many of you generously gave to honor Msgr. Connolly on his retirement have been helping to improve our Church building. In August, the pew kneelers were replaced. You probably have noticed that the new kneelers are spring-loaded, which means that not only do the kneelers no longer come down with such force, but it is much quieter putting them up and down, especially at the Our Father! We have also invested in …

Embracing the Desert

Many of us are struggling with the new economic realities of the past two or three years. Unemployment, and underemployment, figures continue to be gloomy. Countless people have been looking for work for months without success. Our faith can be challenged at times like this, and it can be hard to keep optimistic and cheerful when, however hard we try, doors are constantly shut in our face. It’s only natural to question and doubt God. “Where is God in all …
