not close the gates of the city until all who seek that Justice are allowed in. Only then does
it become a center of protection from the "common sense" of men who would invade and
dominate until they possessed and controlled everyone and everything for their own perish-
able glory, a glory bound to end in dust because it possesses so little of the life-giving ele-
ments of God's faith and justice.
As usual, the Scriptures take the long view in lieu of the short-term temptation to go-it-
alone ourselves. Faith and justice take time and endurance to realize; the benefits may not
be easily seen with our near-sighted view of success. In the end though, unless faith and jus-
tice are present, all our grand accomplishments will be "dust" that is trampled on by those
we thought were not worthy of our consideration. With faith and justice as foundational
elements, we have something we can build a mighty "city" around, and enjoy all the benefits
God's unquenchable grace.
Prayer
Gracious God, lead me to be a better conduit of your faith and justice.
