perience as we live out our Christian calling of spreading the Good News in
the world – a world which may not want to hear our news, and which may
turn against us for bearing that news. Ah, but herein lies our gift! Yes,
amidst all of the doom and gloom, what is the one message that still re-
sounds loud and clear? Our Father in heaven will NEVER desert us! He is
our rock and our refuge; He will fill us with His words and His wisdom as we
are encountered by those who will persecute us; He will imbue us with His
grace and power in our times of need. As opposed to some of the gifts
which we may have received yesterday, these are the gifts which will never
wear out, the gifts that will never need new batteries, and the gifts for which
there truly is an unconditional, ‘money-back guarantee’!
Prayer
Let us Pray, Father in heaven, guide us to always remem-
ber Your infinite and unwavering love and protection.
Our world often leads us to have a greater appreciation
for the material and the tangible; however we know in
our hearts that our true reward lies in You. May our
faith be never shaken, and may we show our gratitude to
you by defending you and giving thanks to your name,
thereby spreading the gifts which you so generously be-
stow upon us, to all whom we meet. Amen.
