I give thanks and praise to God for the wonderful and fruitful year that we had, which you made possible. Holy Family is fully open, welcoming visitors, new parishioners, and returning ones. Our ministries are busy serving God and those in need. We could not have done this without your generous sharing of your time, talent, and treasure. Thank you, thank you! As the summer began, we returned to a full mass schedule and added an evening mass on Tuesday, followed by adoration and confession. In October, we had an incredible mini fair as you celebrated with me my 25th anniversary of priesthood, my installation as your pastor, and together we welcomed more returning parishioners. In December, we had a wonderful tree lighting ceremony and a standing-room-only celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe. This advent season, our Giving Bank reached out to a record number of families from within and outside our boundaries to brighten their lives with Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets. We celebrated Christmas in the tradition of Holy Family, and we welcomed a new year together.
Before long, Lent was knocking on our door. We had formation programs including a Speakers Series, Soup & Cinema and Taizé prayer. The Alleluias rang out from our church as we welcomed eight new Catholics at the Easter vigil and celebrated the Lord’s resurrection on Easter Sunday. Throughout the Easter season, babies were baptized, children received their First Communion and over 100 teens and adults were confirmed. We also had a wonderful live auction, “A Night at the Derby,” after a two-year absence. This is only a sliver of the signs of life that sprouted during a challenging year to announce that Holy Family is back, vibrant, and ready to continue its mission of making missionary disciples. This could not have happened without the grace of God and YOU! Thank you for your labor of love! This was last year. Now we turn our focus to what is coming as we journey together with “Faith in the Future” because He is the same God who will accompany us, who is generous, who has great plans for us, and who desires that all his children will enjoy eternal life with Him. And He needs more laborers to gather His harvest. I ask that you pray about joining us to produce a bountiful harvest for the Lord. Do not be afraid! Don’t be left out! Give your time, talent, and treasure, and see how God will bless you even more than before. I pray that one day Holy Family will be known as the parish where every parishioner is a true missionary disciple involved in the work of saving souls. Yes, every parishioner!
Thank you for a wonderful year, and for what is to come!
God bless,
Fr. Albert
