Fr. Ricky Manalo, Catholic songwriter and evangelist sings, “Take the Word and go out to ev’ry land: shine the light of Christ for all to see!”

Our hope is that this becomes a theme for Lent and beyond. Take a look at our Lenten plans and share this information with a friend or family member and join us for one or more events.

To get ready for Lent, Holy Family is sponsoring a Pancake Mardi Gras Celebration. Come any time on Tuesday, February 21 between 4:00pm and 8:00pm for pancakes, a traditional Fat Tuesday tradition. During our gathering, we will pass out supplies to add to the ones from yesteryear. We will also have representatives present to help you navigate your way through Lent.

Our Lenten journey includes a Parish mission, Pathway to Jesus. The Mission begins with our Missioners speaking at the Masses on March 12. The Mission is March 13-15. Bobby Vidal and Katie Tassinari from the Office of New Evangelization and Parish Life for the Archdiocese will share a pathway to Jesus. During these three days, we as a parish will grow in our understanding of Jesus’ Great Commission: to spread the good news that Jesus has come, is risen, and wants to have an intimate relationship with you and with everyone.

Author Matthew Kelly wrote that “Jesus wants you to carry on his work.” Together the community of Holy Family will consider just how we as a church and as individuals will carry on his work. Together the parish is invited to read Kelly’s book Rediscover Jesus: An Invitation. This book has 40 short chapters–one for each day of Lent. To help in our understanding of the invitation, there will be a one-hour, faith-sharing group meeting. You can choose a session, Monday through Thursday, either in the morning, afternoon, and evening. During Lent read, share, and experience Jesus’s invitation to discipleship.

Perhaps you would like to engage in a spiritual retreat. The Ignatian Spiritual Group is sponsoring a weekly retreat, either via zoom or in person, Thursday nights on Zoom and Saturday mornings in person. Allow the Spirituality of Ignatius of Loyola to fill your Lent.

Each Friday evening, different ministries will lead Stations of the Cross. Come and share a prayerful experience with other parishioners leading the Stations.

We will also have our regular Lenten observances:

  • Our Website will have suggestions for activities for your home

during the Lenten season.

  • Tuesday evening, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and confession from 6:00p.m -7:00p.m.
  • Communal Reconciliation Service on Tuesday, April 4th.

Pope Francis said, “Lent is a favorable time for personal and community renewal, as it leads us to the paschal mystery of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

Allow Holy Family to be your anchor, helping you and yours to renew your faith and continue your Pathway to Jesus.
