there seems to be a lot of “traditions” that no longer exist, or that are still used
when they don’t need to be, or are now interpreted differently. For instance
there are some harsh punishments place upon a daughter who is not a virgin
before marriage (Deuteronomy 22:21). Another difference is Jesus’“Thou shall
not kill,”unlike God’s
apparent “violent
acts” that would be
quite illegal in our
time. But as a wise
person told me, in
the Old Testament
people needed a big-
ger push to become
holy, and now, with
our Lord Jesus, he is
all around us.
By the way, though I
love and need my
Lord, I greatly enjoy
the sun, moon, stars
as well.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Fa-
ther,
I sit with you every
day, and when that happens it opens up the weakness and neediness that only
you can carry. I would be nothing without you, and remind myself of it
throughout each day, so as to pass on your strength and never-ending love to
others. One of my favorite and most used bible verses is “Seek first the kingdom
of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.”
That says it all.
