Centering Prayer

Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer or meditation which prepares us to receive the gift of God’s presence.

Holy Family’s Centering Prayer group isn’t meeting during the COVID outbreak, but you can experience this wonderful prayer opportunity from the comfort of your own home by joining this zoom meetings.

  • Meditation Chapel is an interfaith online meditation community hosting Zoom meeting for different meditation groups. There is a group for those doing Centering Prayer as taught by Contemplative Outreach, founded by Fr. Thomas Keating. Click Here!
  • From Michelene Vargas of Holy Redeemer in Montrose – Centering prayer is an important prayer in the program in addition to other contemplative prayers (e.g., Examen, Lectio Divina).  I have been leading the class for a few years now at my parish (Holy Redeemer in Montrose).  With the coronavirus, I have moved it online.  I’m teaching it through Zoom.  I love this ministry and have had wonderful feedback.  I hope to get the program out to more people with this new online offering.  I have attached a short introductory video, a brochure, and link to my next class – starting May 9th.  If you know anyone that might be interested please forward these materials and my contact information.  It is donation based to make it available to everyone.
