John declares that Jesus is the
^Lamb of God?
meaning that Jesus is the longed-for Messiah who
will redeem Israel. He understood that Jesus was
the perfect unblemished lamb offered by God the
Father in heaven as the one and only sacrifice that
could cancel the debt of sin and free us from death.
While the prophets proclaimed Christ?s coming from
a distance, John saw him up close, in the flesh (I
Peter 1: 10-12).
How did John the Baptist recognize that Jesus was
the Son of God? Because the Holy Spirit gave him
the gift of faith to understand and believe in Jesus?
divinity. How did my husband
and I know that our godson?s divine life was beginning with
his baptism? Because the Holy Spirit gave us the gift of faith
and understanding. We believe, we know on that blessed
day, Nicholas became a child of God!
Are you a child of God? Have you had a personal encounter
with Jesus through the Holy Spirit? Are you growing in the
knowledge and love of Jesus Christ? Do you want to grow in
His love and deepen your faith?
'Now I have seen and testified that he is the Son of God.¯

Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus Christ, come to me by the power of your
Holy Spirit and let me grow in the wisdom of your immense
love and truth. Let your Holy Spirit guide me so I may know
you, love you more eagerly, and do your will in all things. In
Jesus name, I pray. Amen
