May 1st saw the launch of the Department of Advancement and Stewardship at Holy Family Church.   The goal of the department is to create a cohesive and seamless stewardship and advancement program for the parish and school.

Two new part-time positions have been created to staff the department.  Mary Hatton has assumed the position of Director of Parish Stewardship and Shannon Porter has taken on the responsibility of Director of School Advancement.  They will work very closely as a team in a combined effort to advance the current and future vitality of the church and the school.

In keeping with our mission of inspiring Grace, Gratitude and Generosity within our parish community, Mary will develop and manage the short and long-term stewardship goals and strategies for the parish.  She will have oversight of the parish annual giving program, as well as other enrichment and fundraising activities to ensure the long-term growth and viability of our parish.  Mary is well-known and esteemed throughout the school and parish community.  She brings considerable development expertise from various volunteer commitments, Mayfield Junior School, Mayfield Senior School, and has an unparalleled knowledge and sincere love of Holy Family Church, her parish of almost 40 years.

Shannon will be responsible for developing and implementing an advancement strategy to support targeted needs within Holy Family School, especially those areas identified by the Strategic Plan.  Working closely with the Principal, School Board members, faculty, staff  and parents, Shannon will identify new sources of revenue, while strengthening existing fundraising activities to ensure that the school has the proper resources to meet the needs of our students and families.  Shannon is known to and highly respected by many in the Holy Family community as the former Development Director at Dolores Mission School, and as the former Manager of Homegirl Cafe.  Shannon brings extensive experience in fundraising, grant writing, and elementary school advancement.
